Abstract Relevant and Attractiveness: This demo will showcase a real-time near-field acquisition of individualized head related transfer function (iHRTF) and on-the-fly spatial audio rendering of the individual. As HRTFs are often time consuming and expensive to acquire, this demo platform will demonstrate a fast near-field on-the-fly HRTF for 360o capture and its output upload automatically to the cloud where it can quickly apply to an interactive spatial audio renderer. This demo is an extended work based on ICASSP 2017 and ICASSP 2018 . Content: The signal processing techniques include: (1) Adaptive HRTF acquisition via headtracking (2) Spatial audio processing algorithms. Innovations: This demo integrates several key techniques, as explained above, and take into consideration of near-Field challenge. This integration results in a seamless end-to-end acquisition to rendering process, where minimum latency or processing delay are required to obtain accurate and reliable HRTF acquisition. This demo consists of head tracker, speaker source, binaural microphones that are easily integrated into system to capture the HRTF through an interactive user interface for acquisition and rendering. Potential inspiration: The iHEAR-NF platform can be integrated seamlessly in hearables and VR/AR headgears and the apps can be expanded to include new spatial audio functions through future cloud computation.
